Only slightly larger than an office envelope, the ultra-portable weighs a mere 680g (1.4lbs) and features an 8-inch LED-backlit display, capable of a high 1600 x 768 pixel resolution.
The P Series is not at all light on spec either, packing a 1.33GHz Intel processor, up to 60GB Hard Drive or 128GB SSD, 2GB RAM, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, a webcam and a microphone. The ultra-portable includes a full keyboard and opts for a nipple pointer / mouse nub over a trackpad to save on space. It is rated at 4-hours of battery life too which is quite an achievement.
The Vaio P runs on Vista and apparently includes support for external displays, for when you need to view a file quickly on a larger screen. It features an "Instant Mode" that allows you to use a web browser, check email and view photos without waiting for Windows to boot.
Just Power up the p11z and open files quickly using the VAIO XrossMediaBar button on the front of the notebook. All ps3 and psp owners will already by familiar with the XrossMediaBar, it allows you to skim through the icons to browse the web, use the laptop as a media player or scroll through your pics without booting up the whole laptop. Handy if you’re on the move and a bit low on battery.
The Sony p11z will give you about 3 hours of battery life with the bog-standard battery pack, but there is also an optional additional pack which would boost the juice up to eight hours.
With its large full size keyboard, the VAIO P-Series netbook lets you type easily with both hands. It has been precisely designed for comfort and control with carefully spaced keys, perfect typing stroke, and stick pointer at the cost of a palm rest pad.
